A beautiful moment of humanity and unity. Privilege of participating in a special Iftar gathering held at Sri Wisudhdharamaya Viharaya organized by House of Religions together with Move Front Organization. The program was opened by Ven. Suddasi Thero and a meaningful speech on the Islamic significance of Iftar was delivered by Mujeeb Moulavi.
Many non-Muslim friends shared that it was their first time attending an Iftar and learning about this beautiful tradition. A touching moment happened when refreshments were delayed and Ven. Suddasi Thero kindly brought dates from the temple and shared them with everyone.
As a Muslim, experiencing Iftar in a Buddhist temple reminded me that humanity, respect, and unity are stronger than any differences.
